Hafiz Jatto, Futures Forward
Nov 9th
Futures Forward partners work together to offer accessible services and transitional supports for current and former youth in care ages 15-29 in the areas of mental health, housing, employment, education, and financial counselling. Futures Forward is a unique program because it is a collaborative model, made up of three community agencies coming together to coordinate and deliver critical services to an underserved demographic. Young people may engage with one or all of Futures Forward services and many require a combination of several to achieve interdependence. Futures Forward’s participant-led, multi-service approach seeks to address the issues that affect youth transitioning out of care such as: poverty, homelessness, unemployment, minimal educational attainment, reliance on public assistance, involvement with the justice system, problems with mental health and substance abuse and addictions.
