Feb 27th
Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada has partnered with Rumie to curate (and create!) micro-learning bytes for Fostering Community. We invite youth from care to join us for the second hands-on workshop facilitated by Rumie, where you and your peers will be able to come together to create youth-driven learning bytes to be shared across both platforms.
Date: Wednesday, March 29, 2023
Time: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM (EST – Toronto Time)
Where: Virtual - Link will be provided with registration
*$100 Honorarium for participation
You must RSVP by Wednesday March 22, 2023 at this link to attend:
You will create learning bytes in small teams about the theme #mentalhealth. The topics that will be covered include “how do I tell my friend that I am a youth in care?”, “how to navigate mental health and trauma without a family support system”, and more! The workshop will take approximately 1.5- 2 hours, with an extra week to edit, tweak, and finalize your bytes together if you need it! The purpose of this workshop is to help youth in and from care create their own “bytes” that people can access on Rumie and/or through Fostering Community, plus, it will be a great addition to your resume! $100 honorarium will be provided for participating in this workshop and completing your byte.
Learning bytes will be shared on Rumie, Fostering Community, and potentially CAFC’s social medica channels, however, these bytes can be anonymous if you do not want your name shared.
*Honorarium is processed 4-6 weeks after participating in the March 29th, 2023 workshop.
Please reach out to program coordinator Suzie Brooks at sbrooks@cafdn.org if you have any questions about the workshop. Hope to see you there!
