Apply to be a Youth Co-Researcher with the University of Calgary!

My name is Katelyn Greer and I am currently a youth co-researcher with the University of Calgary. Our research team is recruiting young people to become youth co-researchers, like me, on a project regarding out-of-home group care. We will be facilitating training in research for youth to gain skills, and they will be contributing to our academic research project regarding out of home group care experiences. Youth co-researchers get paid $25/hour to attend our sessions and be apart of our research team. No previous experience is required.

What you’ll be doing:

• Attend regular Zoom meetings from October to April (Approximately 2-3 hours per week) 
• Discuss your lived experience
• Receive training in research
• Work with other youth co-researchers

Eligibility:

• Live in Canada
• 18-26 years old Lived in out of home group care environment in Canada (e.g. group home, campus-based care) for minimum 30 days as a young person 
• Had a positive experience with 1 or more staff that you think positively influenced your life 
• Feel emotionally safe to discuss experiences living in a group care environment 
• Access to a device to participate in Zoom meetings
